Ans-     Numerous question made Keshav and Shyama curious about the eggs that is, How big were the eggs ? What  colors were they ? How many ? What did they eat ? How would the chicks come out of them ? What is the nest like?

Q.2. What three things did the children do to protect the eggs ?

Ans-     They brought stool and observed the eggs. Keshav made a cushion with rags, made a roof by using a basket and put water for the chicks.

Q.3. Why did Keshav think of making a cushion for the eggs ?

Ans-     Keshav thought of making a cushion for the eggs because the eggs were lying on twigs and straw.

Q.4. What excuse did Keshav give for not showing the eggs to Shyama ?

Ans-     Keshav's excuse for not showing the eggs to Shyama was that if she will fall down Ma will beat him very badly and make his chutney. She will accuse him of helping her up.

Ans-     In the beginning of the story, Keshav and Shyama were feeling happy and curious for eggs and birds. Numerous question rose in their mind. But at the end of the story they felt sad for the eggs and the two birds. Keshav felt pained because he thought that the eggs were broken because of him.

     The  is about two children who discover eggs laid by a bird on the cornice  of their house. The children feel that the eggs are unsafe and they should do something to protect them. Later, they found the eggs broken.  The children, in their innocence and lack of wisdom feel that they are helping the bird by transferring the eggs to a safe place. But, their good intentions only leads to the breaking of the eggs.
